Empowering the youth in Kenya

Rebel worked together with Generation Unlimited (GenU) to provide the best avenues of empowerment of youth in Kenya. This means getting thousands of secondary school aged teens a connection to the workforce.

The Challenge

GenU is a global partnership working to prepare young people to become productive and engaged citizens, connecting secondary-age education and training to employment and entrepreneurship. The objective of Rebel was to produce three foundational documents for the implementation of GenU related activities in Kenya. This work  also included insight into the bottlenecks, challenges and gaps being experienced in these areas as well as a series of recommendations on how best to implement the roadmap.

The Approach

Rebel followed a multiple step plan and research to help with the foundations for the implementation of GenU related activities in Kenya. It started with an identification of scalable initiatives, then a next step roadmap including an action plan and an update of existing information on adolescent and youth education and training; employment and skills building.

The last step was the empowerment of the youth and GenU.

Impact

Empowering the youth in Kenya by connecting secondary-age education and training to employment and entrepreneurship.
