Creating a Mobility Monitor for a (post) COVID-19 reality

Building on our Market Monitor, we created a dashboard and research report that showcase developments in mobility behavior around the world, following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The challenge

COVID-19 has had a significant impact on public transit around the world. With their operations being hit, transit agencies and mobility providers are investigating ways to navigate through uncertainty. To help them do so and use the pandemic as an opportunity to better serve the changing needs of riders, we created the COVID response monitor.

The approach

To better understand the way the novel coronavirus affected mobility, Rebel created a dedicated interactive dashboard, which displays ridership, intent to travel and transit supply-demand data on several regions around the world. As a complementary tool, Rebel offers a bi-weekly report, which includes various governmental responses since the beginning of the pandemic, state-of-the-art developments in transit and mobility, as well as research on relevant topics for the near future.

The findings of the report and dashboard are discussed during regular run-through meetings. Our research is complemented by our international network.
