Providing transaction advisory services for Puerto Princesa Airport

Rebel was determined to realize best value for DOTC and PPP Centre of the Philippines by providing transaction advisory services towards the best possible deal.

Rebuilding the gateway to Palawan
The DOTC and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines were preparing and developing the new airport but needed the expertise of transaction advisors to take the next step to develop and implement the project as a PPP. The airport was to be rebuilt in its current site but moving its terminal to a new location and implementing ILS capabilities. At the same time an increase in the airside capacity was one of the results of this revamp.

Supporting the DOTC and PPP Centre
The clients were looking for advisory support in the design and implementation of a full-fledge PPP transaction and international tender for the operating and maintenance of the Puerto Princesa Airport. We led the consortium as transaction advisors and developed an integrated business case incorporating technical and performance, legal, risk and financial analysis and structuring components. Support was given by developing the PPP options and supporting the submission of these options to the cabinet. Through the management of the bid process we assisted the clients until contractual and financial close for the airport redevelopment.

An airport to meet aviation needs
The reconstruction of the Puerto Princesa Airport in the Philippines now means an airport that is structured in a more effective way that will support current and future demand for aviation in the province of Palawan.
