Developing PPS Werkplaats i.c.w. Berenschot
Rebel and Berenschot developed PPS Werkplaats
As a joint initiative Rebel and Berenschot developed PPS werkplaats: an advanced PPP multi-module training course for PPP professionals. In the course a PPP project was thoroughly discussed. Our Purpose was to advance their understanding of what makes a successful PPP deal, both on content and process, and increase their PPP knowledge and skills. How to formulate a PPP project? How to guide it through the formal decision-making process? And, how to manage the change process with in your own organization?
Working on knowledge and skills from experience
To increase this knowledge and skills both Berenschot and Rebel took care of a considerable amount of experienced experts. In addition, a large number of external trainers / PPP practitioners were involved from academia, city councils, general contractors, investors, legal firms and consultancies. The course covers all phases, from inception to exploitation, and all aspects, from content to the PPP professional’ role and perspective.
Bringing together private and public parties
Unique about the 16-days training course is that it brings public and private sector professionals together in one room, allowing an in-depth exchange of ideas, thoughts, prejudices, approaches, interests, etc. The latter leads to a better understanding of the mechanics behind a partnership and again and again to practical recommendations on how such partnerships can be improved in practice.
To improve PPP projects
This was one of the reasons to develop the PPS Werkplaats: we think it’s very important to improve the cooperation in PPP’s – not to make ourselves better, but because we believe our knowledge can help to enhance PPP projects in general. We therefor think it’s great to see that the participants often continue to meet each other as it has given them a platform of peers to discuss their work in.
